Gili Nir, LMSW
THERAPIST
I offer a compassionate space where you can bring your whole self without judgment. Through collaborative inquiry, therapy can help you put words to your experiences and develop new approaches to life that work and feel better for you. Building a strong rapport is crucial, as our work together is meant to be both a secure base and a tool for growth, a place for exploring where you feel stuck, discouraged, or lost. Our goals will revolve around cultivating self-knowledge, clarifying desires, and fostering a sense of agency so you feel increasingly more confident and equipped to go after what you need and desire.
My work with adults, adolescents, and children covers a range of struggles including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, difficulties with intimacy, complex trauma and challenging family dynamics. My approach is grounded in a psychodynamic perspective, which seeks to explore and clarify how past experiences shape who we are today, our expectations, and how we handle ourselves and others. I draw on my experience as a yoga practitioner and teacher to integrate present moment awareness and invite clients to tune into their embodied experience.
Wellbeing is holistic, encompassing the nonverbal and cultural dimensions of life. As such, I value understanding cultural and systemic influences, including race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic experience and age. Together, we can understand and navigate these influences with sensitivity and awareness. Ultimately, my wish is to help my clients experience life more fully and to navigate it with more purpose, connection and joy.
